Bloom is a community built around fitness and wellness that provides athletes with a place to belong. The program offers people with intellectual and developmental disabilities an inviting and safe environment to exercise, learn about healthy lifestyle choices, and have social interaction. Classes include in-person, Bloom LIve!, and app-based on-demand cycling, yoga, Pilates, dance, chair fitness, and strength, which serve to enhance the overall wellness of each athlete through education and encouragement. Our Classes

Strength

Bloom Strength combines light dumbbell resistance training with bodyweight strength training. Athletes complete intentionally designed movements focused on proper form and body movement. This motivating class increases overall strength, mobility, and coordination while improving muscular and bone strength and mental health. In-person, Bloom Live!, and on-demand classes are available.

Yoga

Bloom Yoga involves the formation of body postures, breath control, and meditation. Athletes follow a certified instructor through adaptable movements that encourage cross-body movement, balance, strength, and flexibility, improving overall balance and fitness. Bloom yoga participants become aware of the mind and body experience through safe modifiable movements. In-person, Bloom LIve!, and on-demand classes are available.

Pilates

Bloom Pilates consists of low-impact flexibility and muscular strength movements emphasizing proper posture, core strength, and balance. Bloom Pilates requires no additional equipment and is easily scalable to each athlete’s needs. Bloom Pilates movements have been strategically selected to enhance the mind and body, thus improving each athlete’s overall well-being. In-person, Bloom LIve!, and on-demand classes are available.

Dance

Bloom Dance keeps athletes smiling and moving - taking the “work” out of a workout. Bloom Dance combines scalable low and high-intensity dance moves into a fun and engaging cardiovascular workout set to today’s popular music. Because dancing is often a preferred and easily accessible activity for adults with an IDD, Bloom Dance is a perfect place to begin one’s fitness journey. In-person, Bloom Live!, and on-demand classes are available.

Cycle

Bloom Cycle is the hallmark Bloom Fitness program. It provides athletes access to top-quality cycle equipment specifically chosen for ease of use and quality of experience. Athletes receive extensive training on the mechanics of operating spin bikes safely and efficiently before attending any classes. Once approved for class, athletes participate in interval training - increasing and decreasing intensity levels as needed. Classes are provided in person only.

Chair Fitness

Bloom Chair Fitness combines the best elements of Bloom yoga, dance, Pilates, and strength to facilitate movement while seated. The class is designed so that anyone can participate and is not limited to athletes with mobility disabilities. In-person, Bloom LIve!l, and on-demand classes are available.
